The story is simple... boy meets girl at a wedding.  Boy and girl date.  Boy and girl start planning their own wedding.

Russ and Kelly really did meet at a wedding... Kelly was serving as an emcee at the red-carpet reception, and Russ was a guest.  At the end of the evening, Russ asked Kelly to hang out with some friends.  It was late, but a couple of hours quickly flew by, filled with great conversation.  When Russ  walked Kelly to her car, the battery was dead, and it refused to start.  So what else would a gentleman do?  Offer his car keys to the woman he just met, of course!  Russ told Kelly she could return the car to him the following morning - but jokes that his generous offer was actually a ploy to guarantee a chance to see her the next day.  Though she decided to call a friend to pick her up instead, Kelly thought that Russ was very sweet to offer her his car.  So they exchanged phone numbers and decided to go on a first date once Kelly returned home from a long business trip.

A few weeks and many phone conversations later, Russ took Kelly to Morton's Steakhouse on their first real date.  He says he fell in love with her the moment she ordered a steak with a mountain of mashed potatoes for dinner, and then cleaned her entire plate.  Kelly says she fell in love with Russ the moment he caught her off guard and planted a kiss right on her lips at the end of their first date.  He loved that she was a little shy, but funny... and she was a fan of red meat.  She loved that he was outgoing, confident and that he shared her fondness for red meat.  The rest, as they say, is history.
